Benjamin Moore’s 10 Most Popular Colors
This is a list of Benjamin Moore’s Most Popular Paint Colors, according to Benjamin Moore.
If you are looking for a pretty, versatile paint color that’ll look good for years, you can’t go wrong with any of these top colors by Benjamin Moore. I’ve used a few of these in the past and absolutely love them.
Ready to dive in? Let’s get into the colors, starting off with #10… Edgecomb Gray.
10. Edgecomb Gray by Benjamin Moore
Edgecomb Gray (HC-173, 972, OC-15) – LRV: 63.09 (LRV, or Light Reflectance Value is a scale commonly used by design professionals where 0 = absolute black and 100 is pure white.)
Edgecomb Gray by Benjamin Moore is a warm medium-light greige paint color. This color will present an unmistakable grayish beige appearance, and it won’t look washed out in a room with plenty of natural lighting.
With a LRV of 63.09, Edgecomb Gray is an amazing paint color when it can be lit up to its full potential with lots of natural light. On the other hand, it’s not a great choice for rooms with limited or no natural lighting.
Benjamin Moore discribes Edgecomb Gray as:
A go-to neutral that can refresh a space, while providing a warm, welcoming feeling.

9. Gray Owl by Benjamin Moore
Gray Owl (OC-52 / 2137-60) – LRV: 64.51 (LRV, or Light Reflectance Value is a scale commonly used by design professionals where 0 = absolute black and 100 is pure white.)
Benjamin Moore Gray Owl is a light to medium-light gray paint color. Its color temperature is rather cool, making it perfect for rooms with Southern light. It’s included in my paint color guide: Best Paint Colors For South Facing Rooms.
Although Gray Owl is on the cooler side of the spectrum, gray is still a neutral color, and it can work well in almost any room (even if it isn’t South facing).
A use-anywhere light gray with a cool, crisp cast.

The Easiest Way To Test Paint Colors
If you look at a paint color on your phone, or on a paint color card in a store, you’ll get a decent idea how the paint color will look.
However, the lighting and colors in every room are unique, and paint colors always look a little different once you get them up on your walls.
This is why it’s so important to test out paint colors on your walls.
My favorite way to test paint colors is using Samplize Peel-and-Stick Paint Samples. I’ve been using them for years, and they always make it so much easier to choose a paint color.
Sale alert! Right now you can get 2 samples for FREE, when you purchase 8 or more.

8. Pale Oak by Benjamin Moore
Pale Oak (OC-20, 858) – LRV: 69.89 (LRV, or Light Reflectance Value is a scale commonly used by design professionals where 0 = absolute black and 100 is pure white.)
Benjamin Moore Pale Oak is a warm, light, bright gray paint color. With a LRV of 69.89, it’s so bright, that it’s almost half way between off-white, and gray.
This paint color appears gray, and with the right lighting, you can see the faintest warm golden glow of yellow undertones.
With its warm gray undertones, this versatile neutral conjures the quiet majesty of white oak.

7. Calm by Benjamin Moore
Calm (OC-22, 2111-70) – LRV: 75.83 (LRV, or Light Reflectance Value is a scale commonly used by design professionals where 0 = absolute black and 100 is pure white.)
Calm is a light and airy white paint color by Benjamin Moore. This paint color is soothing, and beautiful with its bright silvery gray appearance.
It’s well suited as a whole home, or whole room paint color.
“The barest hint of lavender-gray distinguishes this soothing shade of white.”

6. Classic Gray by Benjamin Moore
Classic Gray (1548, OC-23) – LRV: 74.74 (LRV, or Light Reflectance Value is a scale commonly used by design professionals where 0 = absolute black and 100 is pure white.)
Classic Gray by Benjamin Moore is one of my favorite light gray paint colors. Classic Gray is so light, that it’s actually kind of a hybrid color that could be classified as light gray, or off-white.
This is a great whole-home color, and offers more depth of color than a standard white paint color. Even though it has depth and complexity, it’s still light and bright – which is tough to pull off!
An ultra-light shade of gray that can also function as an off-white.

5. Swiss Coffee by Benjamin Moore
Swiss Coffee (OC-45) – LRV: 83.93 (LRV, or Light Reflectance Value is a scale commonly used by design professionals where 0 = absolute black and 100 is pure white.)

Let’s dive into the most popular white paints by Benjamin Moore, starting off with #5… Swiss Coffee.
Swiss Coffee by Benjamin Moore (not to be confused by Swiss Coffee by Behr!) is such a beautiful warm off-white paint color, and it’s extremely loved by both homeowners and designers.
Benjamin Moore gave Swiss Coffee the perfect amount of warmth to make any space feel cozy and welcoming. It has golden undertones, however the color surprisingly doesn’t look yellowish in most lighting.
An essential white with just the right amount of warmth.

4. White Heron by Benjamin Moore
White Heron (OC-57, 869, CC-30) – LRV: 86.69 (LRV, or Light Reflectance Value is a scale commonly used by design professionals where 0 = absolute black and 100 is pure white.)
White Heron is Benjamin Moore’s second most popular cool white paint color! With a LRV of 86.69, it’s bright, but not too bright.
This paint color has green undertones. Depending on the lighting, and the other colors in your home, the green could be very subtle, or quite noticeable.
If you’re looking for something light, bright and slightly cool, then White Heron definitely needs to be on your list of colors to try out!
A classic bright white with the slightest cool cast.

Grab a sample of White Heron here, and I recommend also testing Chantilly Lace – it’s a similar cool white paint color, just a little bit brighter with less undertones.
3. Cloud White by Benjamin Moore
Cloud White (OC-130, 967, CC-40) – LRV: 87.35 (LRV, or Light Reflectance Value is a scale commonly used by design professionals where 0 = absolute black and 100 is pure white.)
Cloud White by Benjamin Moore is a warm white paint color, and it’s very similar to #1 on this list: White Dove. They both have a similar warm creamy white profile, with yellow undertones.
Of the two paint colors, Cloud White is a shade lighter (LRV of 87.35 vs 85.38). Grab a sample of Cloud White here, and a sample of White Dove here.
Soft and balanced, this go-to white can effortlessly buoy a space.

Chantilly Lace (OC-65, 2121-70) – LRV: 92.2 (LRV, or Light Reflectance Value is a scale commonly used by design professionals where 0 = absolute black and 100 is pure white.)
Chantilly Lace is a light & bright white paint color with minimal undertones, and a slightly cool cast. It’s an excellent room-brightening paint for any room with limited natural natural lighting.
Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace is one of my absolute favorite white paint colors. In our latest renovation project, we chose Chantilly Lace as a whole-home color, and used it for all walls, ceilings, and trim.
A classic go-to white that elicits images of fresh cotton and pure silk.

Our Top Painting Tips & Resources:
How To Get A Great Deal On Paint
Did you know that you can use budget friendly paint, and have it color matched to premium Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Williams paint colors? At Joyfully Growing Blog, we always use Glidden Premium paint from The Home Depot.
Glidden Premium rivals the quality of the top paint lines from Behr, Sherwin Williams, and Benjamin Moore.
Any paint store, or home improvement store with a paint section will be able to match colors from most major brands. This means that you can select one brand of paint, but get it mixed in any color you want!
In many cases, affordable paint like Glidden Premium can be up to 50% cheaper than the ‘big name brand’ competition. This can save you a ton of money!
Our Go-To Painting Supplies
- Paint brushes – I recommend ‘Pro Grade’ paint brushes, they’re the perfect budget friendly option. This set comes with both flat and angled brushes to get every nook and cranny. I LOVE the quality and, in my experience, they’re much more affordable from Amazon compared to in-store prices. You might be surprised how cheap this professional quality 5 Brush Set is on Amazon (it’s less than $10!).
- Paint rollers – Cover more surface area with a handy roller.
Tip: I love this one for tall walls or ceilings, it has an extendable handle.
- Paint sprayer – Paint brushes and paint rollers will get the job done, but for serious efficiency and productivity, you cannot beat this Graco Magnum Project Plus airless paint sprayer (Amazon). I personally own this paint sprayer, and have used it on tons of painting projects.
It’s an excellent quality sprayer, and powers through any painting projects in a hurry. Painting with an airless sprayer makes it easy to complete projects in much less time.
- Drop cloth – Skip the mess and grab a reusable drop cloth instead. This will come in handy for future projects. Just pop it in the washing machine after you’re done painting and it will be ready to go for the next project.
- Multi-surface painter’s tape – I always use this brand of painter’s tape, it’s great for smooth or lightly textured walls, trim, baseboards, tile, or even glass. It sticks quick and is easy to remove.
- Sanding sponges – For smoothing and prepping surfaces, you’ll need a couple of sanding sponges in different grits.
