I didn’t originally plan for the DIY blanket ladder to go in our room, but I needed a place to store it while we have our Christmas tree downstairs.
A couple of cozy blankets, some twinkly lights and a mini tree instantly made that little corner one of my favorite parts of our Christmas bedroom.

The thick Pendleton wool blanket was a wedding gift from Mike’s parents and makes a regular appearance during the winter months. I love having this heavy blanket at the foot of the bed for those chilly winter nights, and the red details are perfect for Christmas.
I kept the pillows on the bed pretty simple. The two black/grey buffalo check covers are from Amazon and I added a red sweater pillow from Target in the middle.
I love that the buffalo check pillows could easily be kept out after Christmas with their neutral design. I found the little bike pillow in the Target Dollar Spot and thought it was the perfect addition to add a little personality.
I added one of my Christmas printables to an old frame and hung it up for a simple festive touch.

I kept our nightstands simple by adding a couple of books, some dried eucalyptus and two nesting houses from the Hearth & Hand line for my side….
and one of my Christmas lanterns from this post, with an antler shed for Mike’s side.
When I found this adorable knit stocking banner, I instantly knew it needed to come home with me. I wasn’t sure where I wanted to hang it when I first bought it, but on a whim I draped it over the prints above our bed.
This instantly gave our bedroom a fun and casual vibe that I loved! Plus, it matches the cozy knit textures and pops of red in this room perfectly! Don’t ya think?

Down the hall in the guest room, I added some more hints of Christmas.
A couple of new pillow covers over the existing pillows instantly transformed this space into a winter wonderland. (To see how this room is normally decorated, checkout this post.)
I picked up the cute burlap pillow from Michael’s, and got the green velvet pillow covers from Amazon. The small lumbar pillow cover with the trees is also from Amazon.
Tip: I love using pillow covers to switch up my decor without having to store hundreds of pillows! Just pop them on over pillows you already own for a brand new look!
The pops of red buffalo check behind the pillows are just standard flannel pillow cases from Amazon. I love how they subtly tie in with the red plaid throw.
I wrapped some twinkle lights around the headboard and loosely draped them over each of the nightstands for some extra sparkle.
Across the room I added a few more small festive touches.
Another framed Christmas printable sits on top of the small desk next to some dried eucalyptus.
And of course I had to add a few Christmas trees to the hanging shelves too!
