Our Favorite Hotel Near Bozeman Montana
We celebrated our 4 year anniversary with a little stay-cation at the Sacajawea Hotel in Three Forks, MT (only 15 minutes from Bozeman). With the busy schedules of summer, our getaway weekend was perfect. It was a great way to spend time together and focus on US. We absolutely LOVED our stay at the Sacajawea Hotel, the pictures above don’t even begin to show off it’s beauty!
The hotel is over 100 years old. Its rich history, combined with modern amenities made for such an amazing experience. We were in awe of all of the character within the historic walls. But, it’s safe to say that the favorite part of our stay was relaxing on the wrap-around porch. Mike and I spent most of the weekend out on the porch, side by side in rocking chairs with Sage at our feet (yes, they’re also pet-friendly!). We couldn’t help but hope that one day we would have a similar front porch of our own. We always joke that Tim Mcgraw’s song Where the Green Grass Grows is our dream life, and the Sacajawea Hotel front porch gave us a little taste of that dream, even if it was just for the weekend.

The charm of this beautiful hotel wasn’t the only thing that impressed us this weekend. The food was ah-ma-zing! We kept it casual in the basement bar on Friday night. We enjoyed a basket of Garlic French Fries and Buffalo Wings, along with some karaoke. Let me just say this: Best. Bar-food. Ever. Seriously, it was so good! Saturday night we dressed up for a dinner reservation at Pompey’s Grill. The gourmet restaurant on the main floor of the hotel was excellent. After the delicious food from the bar we enjoyed the night before, our expectations for this meal were high. And friends, we were NOT disappointed! In fact, Mike is already planning on taking us back for dinner next Sunday for their All-You-Can-Eat King Crab special. I have a feeling we will be back often!
We ended our weekend with a bike ride around town. The bikes were rented from the hotel. I thought this was such a fun amenity! Not to mention, they were the cutest bikes ever! Before this weekend, it had probably been 5 years since I had ridden a bike. But as soon as I started pedaling, it was like I was a kid again! We toured the little town of Three Forks together and had so much fun.
Three Forks is a small town in the heart of Yellowstone Country. The small town feel of a slow summer morning was so peaceful. We rode by the high school football stadium where I am sure the entire town gathers every Friday night. Next, we cruised by the local store-fronts downtown where everyone says hello as you pass by. Touring the little western town on bikes was the perfect way to end our mini-getaway.
Whether you are celebrating a special occasion like we were, or just passing through on your way to Yellowstone or Glacier (both are must-sees!), I highly recommend you make a pit-stop in this little country town. We cannot rave enough about how much we enjoyed our stay at this Historic Hotels of America destination. I cannot wait to visit again, even if it’s only to spend a few minutes rocking on the front porch next to my best friend. We may not have a picture-perfect farmhouse front porch of our own (yet!), but the Sacajawea Hotel is the next best thing!
A huge thank you to the Sacajawea Hotel for hosting us. As always, all opinions are my own.
