20+ Simple Christmas Table Decor Ideas

(Affiliate links are provided below for convenience. For more information see my disclosure, here.)

    1. Mini Wreath Napkin Rings

To spruce up your table decor for Christmas, try using mini wreaths as napkin rings. This is a cute way to add a little extra Christmas flair to your table setting!

And the best part – they don’t cost a lot. Check out the Amazon listing to see the current price on this 16-pack of 3″ mini wreaths.

    2. DIY Mason Jar Centerpiece

Add a pop of red to your Christmas centerpiece this year with an easy DIY mason jar project. This centerpiece was created by ‘Yellow Bliss Road’ to spruce up her table with some holiday spirit.

The centerpiece is composed two mason jar designs that alternate down the length of the centerpiece. (I love using these 16oz mason jars and these 32oz mason jars from Amazon for DIYs.)

One mason jar is filled with epsom salt on the bottom (taking up about the bottom third of the jar), with a beeswax votive candle on top.

A second styled mason jar uses the same amount of epsom salt, with the top portion of the jar filled with faux cranberries and garnished with some green juniper on top. I love this design!

    3. Wreath Christmas Table Runner

If you use this table runner as inspiration for your Christmas table runner this year, you’ll feel like a holiday decorating hero! The simple design – created by Mason de Pax – uses three pine wreaths around candles. Bells, twine, and pinecones complete the design.

If you need some candlesticks for your Christmas table runner, check out my favorite vintage brass candlesticks on Etsy!

    4. Add Dimension & Height To Your Decor

Bring your Christmas table decor to life by adding tall snowy pine trees! I love how Erin (aka ‘Cotton Stem’) uses tree figurines to give this table runner design some extra dimension.

These miniature ‘Winter Pine Tree’ figurines from Amazon could be the perfect addition to your Christmas table runner this year (and they’re less than $20!).

    5. Mini Tree ‘Place Setting’

Sarah from ‘Life on Virginia Street’ takes a unique approach to decorating with mini trees. She uses a mini tree centered on each plate of all the place settings.

This idea is simple, but I love how the bold green pine pops against the stark white plates. This snowy ‘bottle brush’ tree set from Amazon would be perfect for recreating the design. The trees are 6″ tall (150mm) and come mounted on a cute wooden base.

    6. Mercury Glass Candles

Lauren from ‘Bless’er House’ created this truly original Christmas tablescape design using mercury glass candle holders. The mercury looking finish adds an interesting detail that catches the eye.

Add some extra flair to your tablescape this year with these Eastland unique mercury glass pillar candle holders from Amazon.

    7. Simple Garland Runner

Keeping a tablescape nice and simple is a great way to uncomplicate holiday decorating.  This no-fuss garland runner with  white candles, combined with a cinnamon sticks and holly place setting  is the perfect way to decorate your table for the holidays without spending too much time or money!

    8. Make A DIY Garland

Making your own DIY garland can help keep decorating costs to a minimum! This easy DIY by The Merry Thought uses rosemary sprigs, twine, and floral wire to create a really nice looking garland.

    9. Copper Mugs and Wood Bead Garland

Go for a whimsical Christmas table look with these cute copper mugs (Amazon) and a wood bead garland (Amazon). The natural wood look of the beads and the shiny warm copper tones pair nicely.

    10. Farmhouse Style Christmas Table

Create a farmhouse style Christmas table with this 12″ wide jute runner from Amazon and my favorite vintage brass candlesticks on Etsy! The jute runner and candlesticks feel ‘Christmas-y’ paired with a pine garland, but they’re also perfect for year round farmhouse style without the garland!

    11. Lantern Centerpiece

I love how ‘On Sutton Place’ creatively uses a lantern in the middle of a table centerpiece. It’s the perfect touch for your Christmas table decor!

Filling the lantern with birch candles and cranberries brings the festive look to life. This set of flameless birch candles (Amazon) would be perfect for this setup.

    12. Boho Christmas Theme

Have a boho themed Christmas this year! Christina from ‘The DIY Mommy’ embraces the boho vibe with this Christmas table decor. To complete the look, she a macramé table runner layered with a green garland. It looks absolutely perfect!

If you like the the idea of sneaking some boho style into your holiday decorating, you’re going to love this affordable Macrame Table Runner made by SnugLife on Amazon.

    13. Cake Stand Centerpiece

Using a cake stand as the base of a table centerpiece is one of my favorite decorating hacks! Check out how ‘frenchlarkspur’ groups candles and sprigs of greenery atop a cake stand for an easy Christmas table centerpiece.

Recreate the look with this white cake pedestal cake stand from Amazon!

    14. Repurpose Ornaments

For a simple (and free!) Christmas table decorating idea, try repurposing tree ornaments that you aren’t using this year. I used a few sparkly globe ornaments to help my artificial fir garland (Amazon) get into the Christmas spirit!

    15. Monochromatic Decor

You can test out a monochromatic look by using all white and black decor. For an extra pop of color, you can try mixing in some dark green by using a fir garland (Amazon) as a table runner. The contrast is amazing!

    16. Candy Cane Centerpiece

Grab the mini candy canes that didn’t make it onto your Christmas tree and put them to use as a centerpiece.

Get the look by using two vases – a smaller one to nest inside a larger one (these ones from Amazon would work great). Place your flowers in the inner vase and fill the walls between the vases with everyone’s favorite striped holiday treat.

    17. Gingerbread Place Card Holder

Swap out your usual place cards you use year after a year and instead, place gingerbread cookies on top of cloth napkins for a yummy festive vibe. Tie them with a pretty ribbon to finish the look.

To keep it from looking like a kids table, add some fancy stemware to each place setting. These wine glasses from Amazon have the perfect modern + classy look.

    18. Rustic Charm

Give your Christmas table decor a woodsy feel for the holidays. All it takes are a few rustic finds—think wooden crates, french stripe runners, and mini burlap trees.

    19. Simple + Modern Vibe

This elegant mix of gold cutlery with modern candlestick holders creates a simple color palette that feels polished and sophisticated.

    20. Winter Wonderland Christmas Table

Celebrate a white Christmas, no matter the climate. It’s so easy to make DIY snow covered pine cones, branches, and berries from fresh cuttings using craft glue and salt. (Use a flaky salt like this one for a more realistic look.)

Simply coat your object in glue using a cheap paintbrush and then sprinkle the salt on the glue coated surface to set the snow-dusted scene.

    21. Creative Place Setting Decor

Does it get any cuter than mini hand painted gingerbread houses and jingle bells on each place setting? I don’t think so.

This entire Christmas tablescape is stunning and while they went all out with a pretty centerpiece as well, you could easily keep the rest of the table simple and let the creative place setting decorations take the spotlight.

    22. Traditional Red, Green & Gold

I love the traditional Christmas colors of red, green & gold and below is a pretty way to pull off the look.

Grab a few sprigs of greenery, pickup some red satin napkins and top it off with pretty gold flatware. Add twinkle lights and real unscented candles for a cozy aesthetic.

    23. Perfectly Layered

For an elegant Christmas table setting use the tried and true combo of charger + dinner plate + linen napkin(s) then add a personal touch on top like the mini green wreath and dessert saucer below. So timeless!

Recreate the look with these red striped linen & cotton blend napkins. (Notice many of the tablescapes in this roundup use these and for good reason – they’re gorgeous! Not to mention they can be repurposed again during the 4th of July!)
